Development: Current Delays
Posted by PBSCentral on Thursday, May 19 @ 18:22:12 MDT (415 reads)
We are currently experiencing difficulties with our decelopment systems after our move of offices. This is causing delays with the launch. Once we have our systems fully operational again, we can begin to take pre-orders for the PBS. Apologies for any inconvenience.

Development: Live Testing Almost Over
Posted by PBSCentral on Friday, April 29 @ 12:40:11 MDT (492 reads)
Live testing is almost complete. We've collected HUGE amounts of data and noticed a couple of very strange ways in which Big Bonus rounds and Regular Bonus rounds are counted by machines... As a result, PBSConnect might be off by one or two tokens... Which is a shame. We're looking into correcting that, but it is purely a software issue. The system handled multiple machines very well in real time and we are very pleased with the system. We will be moving into pre-orders in about a week and then from there we will be manufacturing and shipping (providing we have enough interest at the pre-order stage). If you'd like to pre-order, stay tuned for details. All deposits are safe with us and if we haven't moved into manufacture within a certain period, your money wil be returned. So don't worry, pre-order!

Development: Spam
Posted by PBSCentral on Tuesday, April 05 @ 19:28:53 MDT (669 reads)
The site seems to be getting spammed... We're testing new options for CAPTCHA solutions... As a result, the user database is now being dropped as there are too many bot registrations in there. Please re-register if you have done in the past, but this time you should be able to go through our CAPTCHA system and it'll flag you as human. Apologies for any inconvenience. We assure you, PBSLink and PBSConnect won't have to go through this...

Development: Web Integration Underway
Posted by PBSCentral on Sunday, April 03 @ 07:08:54 MDT (525 reads)
We have commenced integrating PBSConnect with PachiBattleSystem.com.
PBSConnect is in a workable beta phase, but as yet has limited information for stats. The system is now logging daily stats and bonus rounds quite nicely, but only currently displays today and yesterday. Slump charts on a daily basis are being implemented as we speak.
Integrating the software with the website is a priority for us as we draw closer to the release of the system.
Initially the integration is a simple online backup of your stats, but we're working on trying to create sig pics with your stats and cross-comparison of machines. There is encryption in the data stream, so you don't need to worry about sending information to us. In fact, no personal information is sent from PBSConnect at all. The only thing it needs is for you to set your username and password for this site. Even then, that's stored in an encrypted part of the program... So don't worry. We've got you covered.
We will, however, create and publish a privacy policy for PBSConnect and PBSCentral (the module for this site) to assure you and legally bind ourselves to it.
Don't forget: Pre-orders will be taken from May 4th. Make a note of it!

Development: Pachi Battle System Development Update
Posted by PBSCentral on Monday, March 14 @ 22:48:28 MDT (556 reads)
PBSLink development update: 99.99999% complete!
The inter-module communication system is working under test conditions. It still needs to be tested with live pachis. The significance of the system getting to this stage is that whilst the PBSLink modules on their own can connect 3 machines, then linking system allows for around 65,000 to be connected simultaneously. This phase of the development has been the most difficult and we would like to thank you for your patience during this time.
At present we are sourcing manufacturers for our PCBs and parts. Our aim is to have the first batch of PBSLink modules ready to ship by mid-May. We will be taking pre-orders from May 4th. It can be yours for a small deposit with the balance due upon arrival and before shipping.
So until then: May the 4th be with you! (We know... It is bad, but it's catchy!)

Development: Pachi Battle System Development Update
Posted by PBSCentral on Thursday, March 03 @ 16:11:32 MST (689 reads)
Good news and bad news:
Good: There are two prototype modules built and running and the software is developing a lot quicker now we don't have to lug the dev kit around.
Bad: Whilst they are working damned well, we are facing a problem with communication between the modules. They seem to be acquiring random noise along the way resulting in inaccurate reports being sent to software. We are working to try and eliminate the noise and have a reliable module finalised this month.
Ugly: We won't have our pachis until April 15th... :-( Still, it gives us time to fix that problem and then, all being well with our manufacturer, we can begin to sell you the hardware and give you the software. Remember: Whilst you'd need to buy a module, the software is 100% free for life! At the launch, this website will also contain modules to connect with our software and give you the online community of pachi battle counting!

Development: Pachi Battle System Development Update
Posted by PBSCentral on Wednesday, February 16 @ 16:29:38 MST (457 reads)
Well, that's the first part done. Yesterday we began work on construction of prototypes beginning with our test rig. After putting the whole thing together, it refused to power on... The fault was traced back to the contrast potentiometer for the LCD being turned too low... D'oh! At least now we have a fully working test rig and the first prototype of PBSLink U is being built today and will probably be tested tomorrow. We will keep you posted on any more information as it happens.

Development: Pachi Battle System Development Update

Yet more information regarding the PBSLink U module. We've been working hard to add more functionality to the system and as a result, the module can now accept 3 machines! The new addition is Pachislo only, though. Apologies to you pachinko fans out there. However, Pachinko collectors can still connect two pachinko machines into the system and if you decide to add a Pachislo to your collection, you're already covered!
The PBS Connect software has also reached another milestone in the back-end programming with the storage of statistical data. The display of slump charts and graphs is still being worked on and is undoubtedly proving tricky to make it not only provide enough information, but also keep it user friendly.
Scripting work on the PBS Connect to PBS Central bridge has begun and the initial tests have gone well, however integration with the portal is still a little way off yet.
BREAKING NEWS: Our materials for our first working prototype boards should be arriving today. If this happens, PBS Link U can be moved away from the development systems an onto development PCBs. Once this happens, it's estimated PBS Link U would reach completion within 10-14 working days! We're so close, people! In addition, the building of the prototypes means the PBS Connect development should speed up as well.
To keep up with the latest information from PachiBattleSystem.com you can check back regularly, if it's no problem; subscribe to our feed, by using our backend script; or syndicate our information through our ultramode script.

Development: Pachi Battle System Development Update
Posted by PBSCentral on Wednesday, February 09 @ 19:18:51 MST (552 reads)
PBSLinkU is now approaching 90% completion. The current module will support the connection of 2 pachislots or 2 pachinkos or one of each. The decoding of information is performed by the software, so there isn't any need to configure the board in any way.
Prototypes are being made and rigorously tested this month with the system likely to go on sale towards the end of April / beginning of May.
PBSLinkR is around 80% complete, however this module will be decomissioned in favour of PBSLinkU which will act in the same manner. If there is enough demand for a simple link without USB connectivity (you WILL require PBSLinkU for our software) then the module could be put into production.
PBSConnect is still in the initial coding phase. Slump charts are not yet implemented, however storage of statistical data is working with just a few minor bugs in terms of bonus round tracking.
PBSCentral is not being worked on at this time as we are focussing efforts on PBSLinkU and PBSConnect to ensure they are ready for production.
Keep checking back for more information throughout February - April.
